Ludwig Frankmar

Ludwig Frankmar (born 1960 in Falun, Sweden) comes from a family of church musicians.

Ludwig Frankmar - baroque cellist

After studies in his home town of Malmö, with Guido Vecchi, he worked with the Barcelona Opera House and as solo cellist with the Gothenburg Opera.

After studies with Thomas Demenga at the Music Academy of Basel, he was solo cellist with Camerata Bern. In 1995 he left the orchestral profession and initially concentrated on contemporary music.

Contact and collaboration with church musicians led him to early music and authentic performances. As well as solo concerts, mostly in German churches, he also works with other baroque musicians.

Ludwig Frankmar lives in Berlin.
